Lisa Clark, Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI)

I’m the president and principal creative behind Clark Medical Illustration, a full-service biocommunications company based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

My journey started at Otis Parsons Art Institute in Los Angeles, where I fell in love with visual storytelling. From there, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, then dove deeper into my passion by completing a Master of Arts in Biocommunications at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.

Over the past 25+ years, I’ve been fortunate to receive some wonderful recognition for my work, including a Vesalius Trust Research Grant and both the Award of Excellence and Certificate of Merit in Advertising from the Association of Medical Illustrators (AMI) annual salon. I’m proud to be a Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI) and an active professional member of AMI.

What I love most about my work is helping bring complex medical and scientific concepts to life through illustration. Whether I’m creating educational materials for patients and healthcare professionals, designing for advertising campaigns, developing interactive web content, or managing projects, my goal is always the same: making the complex clear and engaging.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with scientific journals, book publishers, medical device manufacturers, trade publications, consumer magazines, and pharmaceutical and advertising agencies. Each project brings its own unique challenges and rewards, and I’m passionate about finding creative solutions that truly connect with audiences.
